Just emerged from a video game funk. It's like going on some kind of binge or bender.
Last weekend, Thomas and I went shopping at the Eaton Centre Mall. Ugh, so busy and crowded. But we had $300 to spend, so we got fancy new jeans, I got some yoga stuff, and we grabbed a jar of Sumac (doesn't seem too important, but we've been hunting the stuff since moving to Toronto.) Then we spent way too long in, not one, but TWO EB Game/Game stop stores. We are a bad influence on each other. We ended up bringing home 3 games: Hunted, Dragon Age I, and a PS2 multiplayer Lord of the Rings Game.
We also went to see Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, where I discovered that I can stare at Gary Oldman for nearly 2 hours without flinching. He is a NEAT man. I love how he can change his face, his posture, his EVERYTHING for every role (it doesn't hurt that I'm a die hard Bram Stoker's Dracula fan). Anyway, it was a good movie, though my lack of knowledge regarding spies in the Cold War era had me going, "Who's that guy? What does he do? I know that there is meaning behind so much of what he's doing and saying, but I just don't know what it is." Regardless, I enjoyed myself very much.
Also, I think it's time to hunt down Benedict Cumberbatch's other works.
Anyway, back to work for me... I had two straight days of bright pixels and aggravating story lines and characters. I guess that's one of the hazards of being one's own boss.
